Creativity is essential

A snippet (with a bit of fleshing out) of a conversation I shared with a beloved Soul Friend client yesterday about creativity.

It’s no small thing to tend our creativity and imagination. New answers, solutions to old problems, inner life alchemy, previously unimagined synthesis can and do occur in creative processes every day.

I hold imagination as an organic technology. Through this faculty we are able to peer beyond what is presently available into what is possible, what has been and into more of what is. A friend recently named that “imagination is prayer,” and this rings true for me.

Creativity and imagination are activating. It may be no mistake that they have been cheapened, undervalued, or conversely made elite. What happens if more of us re-member that ALL acts are creative, destructive and sustaining? How does that alter our worldview? What happens if more of us lean into the oracle edge and peer into possibility and translate what is seen, felt, known into form that encourages interaction and relationship with more than what is visibly here?

Let’s reclaim creative as what WE are, as service, as medicine, rather than allowing the smalling of creative only being for the few — and then let’s see what happens. It’s a practice.
